Instructions to authors
The BJVP publishes original full papers, invited review articles, short communications, case reports, letters to the Editor, and Editor’s viewpoint. With the exception of letters to the Editor and Editor’s viewpoint, all manuscripts will be peer reviewed by twomore referees. The journal may publish also abstracts of scientific meetings in the field of veterinary pathology.
Letter to the Editor: should not exceed two printed pages*. The subject should be comments and information about on going researchpublished papers, and it may contain figures and tables.
Original full paper: should contain title, author’s names and affiliations, abstract, key words, introduction, material and methods, results, discussion, acknowledgments and references**. Results and discussion may be combined.
Short communication: should include title, author’s names and affiliations, abstract, key words, text, acknowledgments and references.
Case report: should include title, author’s names and affiliations, abstract, key words, description, acknowledgments and references.
Review article: should include title, author’s names and affiliations, abstract, key words, text, acknowledgments and references.
Notes:
- "*The manuscripts should be saved as a Word file with 20 mm margins on all sides (letter paper), font Times New Roman 10pt, justified, and single line spacing. Tables should be included in the Word file; figures in high-quality (at least 300 dpi) ".tif", ".bmp", and ".jpg" should be sent in individual separated files. Use of figure layout as panels is discouraged.
- Manuscripts should be written in English and attached to an e-mail message addressed to submission@bjvp.org.br. The authors are strongly encouraged to seek help from a native English speaker to review the manuscript prior to submission.
- The corresponding author and its address must be indicated at the end of first page of the manuscript.
- Experimental studies involving animals should have the approval from an appropriate institutional committee, and the ethic guidelines must be followed by the authors.
- The authors must agree with the transfer of the copyright to the BJVP.

**References and citation in the text
The citation in the text must contain only the number on the line of text (not above) and in parentheses, e.g. (4, 17).
